President's Letter: January 2023

By Gregg Dahleen, NAPIM President

Greetings ink industry members,

It’s been a while since I’ve had the privilege of writing to you. I hope you have had a wonderful holiday season. As this year comes to a close, let’s reflect on our accomplishments as an industry. I am amazed by the unwavering dedication and resilience displayed by our member companies. This was a year of innovation, resulting in digitalization and the use of new technological applications for the printing industry overall, and the ink side in particular. I attribute our success to our ability to adapt business plans, accounting for trends in manufacturing, while facing global supply challenges head on.

As you know, NAPIM prides itself on staying abreast of the issues faced by our member companies. Therefore, we are committed to providing high-quality and relevant content on best business practices, regulatory updates, market data, and advancements to help you grow. One way we do this is by hosting events throughout the year with hands-on and classroom-style education covering these sought-after topics. I personally want to thank our 2022 program speakers, sponsors, NAPIM’s technical board, officers, and directors for their contributions to the association and its educational endeavors. NAPIM wouldn’t be the organization it is today without you. A special thank you goes to our growing membership comprising nearly 900 individuals across more than 50 ink and supplier companies. Your involvement is integral to not only the growth of the association but the strength of our industry.

There’s much to look forward to as we enter the New Year. In addition to our annual events, we are also looking to expand our data services and research; look for expanded technical training in 2023. We want to ensure we provide you with the tools and resources you need to thrive in 2023 while still maintaining our mission. We are a unified voice, and it takes all of us working together to keep our industry strong. We appreciate you as a member and your transparency on surveys—sharing with us what you like and what you feel could be done differently. Your feedback is vital to help us plan for the future.

I would like to leave you with one final question, especially if you are not currently a member of our great association, “Why?” The benefits significantly outweigh the cost with access to discounted education, training, and events; curated member-only content; reduced advertising and sponsorship rates; participation on committees; assistance with technical, EHS, and business issues; and more.

To our current members, thank you! I look forward to your continued involvement.

Sincerely,‎
