George R. Fuchs, 72, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 20, 1954, in Pittsburgh, PA, George lived a life defined by integrity, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved.
George became one of the printing ink industry’s most respected technical and regulatory leaders as the Director of Regulatory Affairs for the National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers (NAPIM). His expertise, steady leadership, and deep commitment to environmental responsibility shaped national standards and industry practices. His work helped build the scientific and regulatory foundation in the industry, ensuring that sustainability in printing was supported by credible data and rigorous standards.
With more than thirty years in the printing ink industry, George built a legacy of leadership, innovation, and service. He was instrumental in the development of the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership and a dedicated leader within the Chicago Printing Ink Production Club. His contributions were recognized with some of the industry’s highest honors, including the Metro New York Printing Ink Association’s Man of the Year Award, the William D. Schaeffer Environmental Award, and the Printing Ink Pioneer Award. These distinctions reflected the lasting impact he made on the industry, and the deep respect he earned from colleagues throughout his career.
As accomplished as he was professionally, George’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and an extraordinary “PopPop”. To his family, he was the man with all the answers and capabilities. No question was too difficult or project too daunting. George’s remarkable intelligence and strength were matched by a humility that made him approachable and dependable for those that sought his time and wisdom.
He found profound fulfillment in the moments spent with those he loved and intentionally built a life centered around family. Whether traveling the world together, taking walks through the neighborhood with his granddaughters, enjoying the home-cooked meals prepared by his wife, Jennifer, or spending Sunday afternoons watching the Pittsburgh Steelers each fall, George found joy in simply being together.
He was gentle, patient, playful, and endlessly present. His grandchildren adored him, and his family always knew they had a safe place in his arms and in his heart. George will be remembered for his kindness, his quiet humor, his loyalty, his intelligence, and the way he made every person feel valued. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the strength he showed throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his daughters, Katherine Fuchs and Kristina Elliott; his son-in-law, Trevor Elliott; and his beloved granddaughters, Aubriana and Emelia Elliott; he is also survived by his beloved siblings, Richard Fuchs, Deborah Cronin, Katherine Hart, and Christina Robinson and extended family.
